Is this really the quality of the support team you've put together for this tournament? First I had someone spam incorrect and frankly inflammatory posts in response to a question I posed, and now this guy is making silly completely uninformed assumptions and posting a cagey reply back.

If you'd taken the time to even check briefly bHack, you'd have seen that we were one of the earliest team sign ups with a complete roster - but this is also totally irrelevant and has nothing to do with the issue that you've incorrectly assumed we're having. This was about a PLACEMENT appeal. There are teams in Div1 that have no business being there, and teams in Div2 that likewise have no business being there. As this was the first season, I would have expected more time for teams to get in contact and to prove their appropriate placement if a mistake had been made. Take a read of the news posts, you'll see a request to get in contact if there are PLACEMENT issues, but no warning that in 4 days time everything would be set in stone. Every reference to dates is in regard to incomplete rosters. I was 'two hours too late' for an entirely separate issue than the one you're so proudly quoting. So, what was it again that you wanted to repeat specially for me exactly?

So I say again, 4 days between you first announcing team placements and then subsequently closing requests to fix completely misinformed guesses that some of these teams have had to face was not long enough, and if there was ever a deadline for such appeals to be made, it should have been posted.

I have no clue why I made the assumption you were part of the organization of the league, after having you respond to my query I saw your name next to blind's and his in the admin team and considered you to be receiving information not typically available - but I'm completely wrong in just making that jump so I apologize.

The issue I have here, is that divisions were just randomly assigned for some teams based on what appears to be a few guys 'knowledge' of the scene and then we were given such a tiny window for the teams themselves to discuss, and subsequently prove the mistakes.


It'd be easier to swallow if a deadline regarding these appeals were posted anywhere, or if there was a larger division bracket shift than one team. Are you really that confident you've got it right that you're only allowing one team to move into a higher bracket each season? Because that's some serious confidence in current placement based on very little evidence.

I hate being the guy that pisses people off - because I know the tremendous amount of work this takes behind the scenes and then there's always the on guy (me in this case) that complains even after you spend hours trying to do it fairly / correctly.


But the situation as it stands is a little off, open up the bracket shifts for the first season at the very least if you've set an arbitrary, unannounced date where teams can come and literally prove the misplacement of teams so that a teams performance can stand in their own light, rather than the assumptions of a few guys behind the scenes that may well have altered the face of the tournament for many seasons considering the low bracket shifts.

If you had read the rules you would know that it is possible for the first 3 Teams of a division to advance to the upper division .. all they need to do is beat the second to last or third to last team of the upper Division !

And as i said . i agree with you about the div placement .. i would have made millions of groups in Season one and basically have the teams rank themselves for Season two with divs.

Also, the teams had until friday to get their rosters in place, so that we could finalize the divisions. I don't see how that is hard to understand.

If he had spent the fraction of the time checking facts rather than writing a reply for an entirely fictional situation which he created in his head in an effort to throw his weight around then perhaps I wouldn't be so blunt either.

I'm sorry but I simply don't agree that the fault rests with the teams that had to scramble for an unannounced deadline, I know that perhaps you thought it was obvious - but it simply wasn't clear that roster deadlines (something many of the teams didn't even need to worry about) were matched to misplacement appeals, read the news posts again with that view and you'll see where I'm having a problem. Every time the deadline is given it's in respect to rosters, every time misplacement is mentioned - no deadline is given.

I'm making silly assumptions too it seems, as the brackets are far more open than I had first appreciated so the entire reason for me taking such issue with the fact we were given so little time to fix the mistakes of others is mute and irrelevant. I just didn't like the idea of 1 team bracket shifts given the current level of ambiguity in placements... which isn't even what's happening at all! So Mea Culpa, I apologize. If I had properly read the rules regarding shifts then I wouldn't have caused a fuss, sorry.

If you noticed, eLbot doesn't have as much of a problem with their placement now that he is cleared up on how things are executed.
Teams requested divisions, even teams from division 2! That is why we went for it. And we added in groups to have double the size divisions.

Stationcar : 1.basically your opponents can forfeit the match and you will be able to play it later during the season 2.Yes. First week will be a bit harsh because of the lack of servers but we're expecting a lot of servers sometime soon. Don't hesitate to ask another team for its server especially for this very first week.

Sublime : as the previous news stated, you can probably guess how hard it was for us admins to judge the divisions. Which is why we gave some time for teams to ask for a "reestimation". Sorry if the deadline was not clear about it :-/ If you finish in the top 3 of your group or something like that you will easily be able to go into division 1 no doubt :)
