Looking to join a NS team new to ns2 108 hour played but could see joining a team now. I used to play a lot of the first NS. Im PST time zone and can be available from 7pm-11pm. I can do this most nights with exception of every other Wensday where it's 9-11pm and Tuesdays I can't participate at all.

Try play some gathers. People will get to know you personally, and they will get to know your skill level.

As a bare minimum i suggest you feel comfortable on the following maps: veil, tram, mineral, jambi, summit, biodome, descent and nexus, as they are the more common gather maps. Know the maps to the point where you know what places are called, and dont really need that kind of hand-holding - there isn't really time for that in a 6v6 enviroment most of the time :)
